Sally Gap in Co. Wicklow
One of my favourite places to visit. Spectacular view of blanket bog land with beautiful heather in full bloom interspersed with bog cotton as far as the eye can see.
Using Bainín woven wool tweed as a canvas background, I work up the textures using various blends of dyed merino wool fibres together with dyed silk fabric, lots of embroidered French Knots hand-stitched onto the surface capturing the colours and textures of the landscape.
